Why did Kiran prefer Kanumuri as TTD chief?

The appointment of Narasapuram MP Kanumuri Bapiraju as the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam trust board chairman has come as a pleasant surprise for him, but it raised many an eyebrow.
One does not know what criterion Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy followed in choosing Kanumuri as the TTD chief, but one thing is certain: the Chief Minister has once again displayed his antipathy towards Kammas.
Kiran thought if the post is given to Reddys, it would create further disenchantment among the other castes as there was already an allegation that he has been promoting only Reddys. And if a Kapu like Allu Aravind is chosen, it would invite further trouble from Kammas. So, as a safe bet, he chose Raju.
But why was only Kanumuri, among all?  Since the Narasapuram MP is non-controversial and has clean image, Kiran okayed his appointment as the TTD chief, sources said.
